LETTERS
To The Editor,
Womansight has provided an opportunity for
many women to exercise their creativity (in-
cluding myseif) and the women of Dallas owe a
debt of gratitude to that group of women who
took the initial risk and continued to do the hard
work that kept it going these two and a half
years, particularly Suzanne Martin and Becky
Gordon.
i appreciate the opportunity that Womansight
provided me to address varied issues and to con-
tinue to stress that the liberation of women is
human liberation and human liberation is not
complete without the liberation of women. Also
important is the support and encouragement, as
weii as camaraderie, i shared with my licom-
paneras” in the Womansight collective which
has been one of the best experiences of my
twenty-seven years.
Kim Batchelor
Dear Readers,
After two and a half years of publishing the
Womansight Collective has decided to fold the
newspaper. The October issue will be the last.
Many factors have contributed to our decision
to fold. Our advertising base has not expanded.
Our readership has declined: subscriptions have
not been renewed, nor have they been replaced
with new ones. Also, the number of people will-
ing to donate time and energy to the pape^ has
dwindled.
The problem we now face is paying our
outstanding debts. We are planning a fundrais-
ing event for the near future. We aiso ask that
you contribute wnatever amount you can to help
reduce the paper’s debts, if you have issues re-
maining on your subscription and would like a re-
fund please write to us.
Our thanks to aii of you who have supported
Womansight during the last two and half years.
