A wagon train was moving
slowly along winding through
the country along a winding wa-
ter stream which was later to
be known as the San Saba river.
It was a group of brave adven-
turers and their families from
the east seeking new homes new
lands and more peace. Many
weeks had they journeyed west-
ward and of all the country
through which they had travel-
ed they decided here was the
most beautiful and most suitable
Elace to build what was later to
ccome the city of San Saba.
The beautiful river ran thru
the hills and valleys and they
knew this would be the best place
to build their homes as they
would have plenty of water.

HvncfitH of College to a Student
There arc mnny rensonslwhy
I wish to go to college and why
I do go. Among them is the
desire for more and better edu-
cation. The lime has corns when
an uneducated person has a very
small chance in the worlil of
business or professions. There
arc many people who have quit
?chool and gone to work merely
because they didn't like to study
and years later they would be
working nt that same Job. They
have had no development be-
cause they have kept their noses
to the grindstone and Haven't
tried to broaden their minds.
Perhaps some of these people
would never have progressed
further even if they should havo
been educated for there is a cer-
tain class of people who don't
care. But tho majority might
have held better positions.
