BILLIE BLEATS
Yes sir! I really do believe that
It's catching all of them these days.
From the actions we are all fair-
ly aure that the disease just couldn't
be 'spring fever' but aomethlnf la
happening. Saw "Little One" and
Qaiton caslnr in a jewelry store
window a few days ago and they
went right into the store. What?
Love in bloom? Willie Mae Gul-
ley courting an old ex-student of
the college. He was here 'way back
when. Good luck to both of 'em.
of a certain series of contests and
emerged with sole ownership to
courting interests in a certain
young lady but another of his old
cronies got the best of him. Seems
that the guy who came out third in
the three way race spent Sunday
Monday and Tuesday with the
femme.
Now something else comes up.
"I wonder who the girl is who said
Tm certainly glad Adrian is here
Yett' There seems to be a new
angle in the matter. Adrian seems
to be losing his grip on the Ameri-
can Dardanelle to "Frosh" Taylor;
but at the same time the kid from
Jacksonville is tightening his hold
on Miss Harbour. (Or is he?)
S. 0. 8. girls have finally received
their pins. Watch out!! They are
liable to be changing hands soon.
They are too good for the girls to
keep and some of the boys have
their eyes on the little trinkets.
Billle Stewart cleaned a couple of
his friends over the week-end.
Seems that he made a clean sweep
Members of the Beta Epstlon
Club have had rather a hard time
finding their president of late.
Seems that he has been busy for
quite a while. A tentative though
by no means thorough check-up
has been made but nothing definite
has been discovered. Clues point
to "Twinkle City" though there is
only a motive for the move in that
direction. What O what ? ? ? ?
now is "How many 'AH' teams will
be graced with the name of the
great 'Chubby' Wohlford?" It's
time to start selecting basketball's
mythical fives and Horace should
be getting wound up in a big way.
One guy almost got a cut throat
last week on account of the Fowler
episode so the editor has been re-
moved from the capacity of assist-
ant dust raiser. However he said
that he wouldn't be satisfied until
he had connected Fowler with
something.
Jack McClendon has the negative
of a snapshot that several girls
are seeking. No one seems to know
just who the girl is who is involv-
ed in the scene but several blush
and wear guilty looks when the
snap is mentioned. It's not real-
ly so bad as all that though.
Remember 'Soc' Walker's pretty
eyes? Wonder if they are getting
him into any trouble these days?
They were quite a help to him for a
while but 'Soc' is the more bash-
ful type. He's in his fourth year
now and he has succeeded in re
pulsing the advances of the women
for that length of time. How long
will he keep it up?
June Stevenson and Speedy were
rather interested in spring train-
ing. Seems that some of the boys
were to room with June's parents.
Wonder how the young ladies came
out. "Dot" Couch said that all of
the spring trainero looked like high
school boys. But that wouldn't
bother 'Speedy.'
Twins and Sitters Win
Amateur Nite Prizes
Imitating the famous Light Crust
Doughboys the Farren twins from
Bangs took top honors in the ama-
teur night program staged by the
junior class of Daniel Baker last
Friday night. The Watson sisters
of Brownwood took the second
place money with their acrobatic
stunts.
Seven groups of contestants took
part in the program for the even-
ing. Pete Barnes business mana-
ger of the Trail was master of
ceremonies for the events.
In addition to the twins and the
Watson sisters there was an ac-
cordian number the Big Apple the
colored quartet from the local negro
high school a trumpet solo and a
four year old vocalist.
The amateur night activities
were included in a number of
The question before the house
Which brings up another ques-
tion How do "Dog" Dillard and
"Piggy" Charnquist stack up. They
seem to be rather friendly at times
but we all know Peggy.
The University of Chicago sen-
ate has approved a plan for award-
ing master's degrees in the social
sciences.
Both houses of the Massachu-
setts legislature have passed a bill
to kill the teacher's oath law.
