fore is too limited to be effective

We visited the jail, and whiles
the premises are well kept and
the prisoners well treated, yet
we would recommend some much
needed improuements, viz: the
inside walls need to be replaster-
ed, whitewashed or calsomined,
the cages or all iron should be
repainted. This could be done
at small-cost and would greatly
improve sanitary conditions. We
also think separate apartments
should be provided for white and
colored inmates, and more espec-
ially a separate bathtub be in-
stalled. The bunks now Tin use
