Announcement was made last
week of the marriage of Miss
Gene Perkins to Leon Biddy on
Monday, June 24, at Benjamin.
Rev. J. Gordor Danignac, pastor
of the Benjamin Baptist church,
read the vows at his home.
Accompanying the couple were
Miss Joyce Renfro, Jack Haymes
and Loy Biddy.
Mrs. Biddy is the daughter of
Mrs. O. G. Lee of Seymour, form-
er resident of Paducah. She came
to this city about three years ago
from Amarillo. She is a graduate
of St. Mary’s Academy of Amaril-
lo.
Mr. Biddy, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Claude Biddy of Paducah,
is a graduate of Paducah high
school and is employed at a local
grocery store.
The couple will make their
home here.
Interesting Program
At Y. W. Meet
The Baptist Y. W. A. met Tues-
day evening at the home of Mrs.
Oien Pressley for a mission pro-
gram and social hour.
Mrs. C. M. Christian directed
a study of South America. Geral-
dine Biddy, Delma Beeson, Mil-
dred Long and Grace Mauldin had
parts on the program.
Highlight of the affair was an
inspirational address by Mr s.
Franklin E. Swanner., The W. M.
U. watchwood formed the basis
for her talk.
At the social hour ice cream
and cake were served to Mes-
dames Christian, Pressley, Swan-
ner and Zena Sanderson, and
Misses Grace Mauldin, Delma
Beeson, Geraldine Biddy and Mil-
dred Long.
The Auxiliary will have Bible
study, directed by Miss Mauldin,
at its meeting next Tuesday eve-
ning at the church.

DUNLAP, July 4—The Bible
Story club met Wednesday after-
noon of last week at the church.
An interesting Bible story was
told by Mrs. Carl Black.

Mrs. V. M. Hand entertained in-
formally Wednesday night of last
week to honor their son, Billy
Bryan, on his sixteenth birthday.
Various outdoor games were
played under the direction of
Mrs. Oran Parks. Candles on the
birthday cake were lighted by
Miss Bama Nelle Smith and guests
made wishes as Billy Bryan blew
out the candles.

picnic supper at the city park
Thursday evening of last week.

and lemonade.

New Organization
Is Service Club
A new organization, the Ser-
vice club, met Tuesday at the
home of Mrs. Ray Felty. The club
is composed of members of the
Christian Endeavor Society.
The purpose of the club is to
form new ideas for the C. E.
society and plan ways to make
the society grow.
The organization’s motto is
“In his service.”
All members of the C. E.
society are invited to join the club
which will meet once each week.

County Clerk O. J. Riley. The
last permit issued in Cottle coun-
ty was on June 20.

Quilting Club Will
Have Picnic Soon
BROOKSVILLE, July 4—The
Quilting club met with Mrs. E. L.
Burton Thursday afternoon of
last week. One quilt was complet-
ed at the meeting.
In a short business session it
was decided that the club will
have a picnic at its next meeting
instead of a quilting. Families of
club members will be guests at
the outing.

club by Mrs. Ward Terry at her

Mrs. Terry (prepared three
salads, a x molded chicken salad,
carrot salad and lettuce rolls.
She gave recipes for each and
hints for making all kinds of
salads.

term of the summer session at
Texas Technological College closes
July 15 and the second term
opens with registration July 16.
The summer session closes Au-
gust 23 with graduation exercises
on the lawn of the Administration
building. The fall session opens
with registration Sept. 16 and 17.
