1986 says Ed Markham president ot the Howard
Payne Alumni Association.
Former students ot the university will be holding a
"Family Reunion" when "Everybody Comes Home"
Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday Oct. 2-5.
Keynoting the reunion ot Howard Payne's family ot
former students and its triends trom across nearly 100
years in time will be the formal inauguration of one of
the university's most distinguished graduates Ur. Don
Newbury as president.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Already the Homecoming schedule tentatively in-
cludes: Thursday Oct. 2 Coronation ot the Homecoming
Queen and Princess 9 :30 a.m. Mims Auditorium.
Friday Oct. 3 Inauguration ot Dr. Newbury 11
a.m. Mims Auditorium; Alumni Uolt Tournament 1
p.m. Brownwood Country Club; Distinguished Alumni
Banquet 6:30 p.m.
Saturday Oct. 4 Parade iu a.m. Barbecue Lun-
ch noon; Southwest Oklahoma vs. HPU football game
2 p.m. Gordon Wood Stadium; Sports Hall ot Fame
Banquet 6 p.m.; Alumni Review 8 p.m. Brownwood
Coliseum.
Sunday Oct. 5 Visits to area churches attended
while students at HP.
HOMECOMING COMMITTEES
Homecoming committee chairmen appointed by the
Board ot Directors ot the Alumni Association include
Markham chairman; Mrs. Pam Willitord publicity;
Mrs. Chene Woltord registration; Jerry Miles and
Karen Murphy parade; Betty Shields Foley class
reunions; Ken Farenick hospitality; Mrs. Valeri
Chambers Deason barbecue; Cecil Friend pep rally
and halttime show; Mrs. Mamie McCullough and Mrs.
Martha Blundell distinguished alumni banquet; Mrs.
Cindy Liebrum and Gayle Moring alumni reivew;
Carlyle Strickland Don Martin and Rick Gregory
Sports Hall ot Fame; Ralph McCalmont out-ot-state
alumni; Jack Riley special group reunions; and
Daniel Baker College Melvin Storm.
Working in conjunction with these committees will
be committees ot current students to be named.
"Howard Payne students are excitedly looking tor-
ward to meetings the alumni who attended HP before
them" says James Hamilton 1985-86 president ot the
Student Association. "Students former students em-
ployees and former employees all share a common
bond a love tor Howard Payne."
SPORTS HALL OF FAME
Plans call for the first annual induction banquet tor a
Howard Payne Sports Hall of Fame to be held at
Homecoming this year Markham said. At the January
meeting of the Alumni Association Board he appointed
a committee to assist in the formation ot the Hall ot
Fame Carlyle Strickland Don Martin and Hick
Gregory.
"For several years" Markham says "interest has
been expressed in forming a Sports Hall of Fame at
Howard Payne to honor the many fine athletes and
those associated with the athletic program."

ALL-STAR ALUMNI REVIEW
"As a special one-time event" Markham says
"there will be an Alumni Review at 8 p.m. Saturday
Oct. 4 in the Brownwood Coliseum tor which some ot
the most loved entertainment acts trom the last 30
years at Howard Payne are being asked to return and
entertain us again."
Bunny "Yo-Yo" Martin will be the emcee as well as
entertain. Also among those already committed to par-
ticipate are Chris Liebrum and David Butler Ray
"Hey Paula" Hildebrand and Forbes and April Woods.
"It will be a memory maker" Markham declares.

CLASS AND SPECIAL GROUP REUNIONS
"Class reunions are so special" Markham remem-
bers "the ultimate opportunity to renew relation-

and remember special times."

'56 '46 '36 '26 '81 and live years back and '61 and 25
years back.

Leaders of the Daniel Baker College Ex-Student
Association expect to meet in the near future to select
homecoming and project committees reports Melvin
Storm of Brownwood president. They expect to have

Homecoming is scheduled to coincide with the
Howard Payne homecoming Oct. 2-5.
