announced the appointment of
Chris R Biggs as Commissioner
to fill the vacancy in Precinct #2.
Chris will be filling the position
held by his father, Dwight Biggs,
whose untimely death created the
vacancy

has 3 years of training as an
Engineer at Tar let on State
University, has worked with
heavy equipment and brings a lot
of experience and many fine
qualities with him to this job to

Comanche ISD Hires
Two New Principals
The Comanche ISD Board of
Trustees in a special meeting on
Monday voted unanimously to
hire Sherman L. Fruge as their
high school principal for the
coming school year
At an earlier board meeting the
trustees voted to hire Mrs. Nancy
S. Alan a as their primary school
principal
Mr Fruge comes to Comanche
from Kansas City High School
where he served as principal.
He also has been principal at
McGregor High School and Kemp
High School He has been vice-
principal at Lampasas High
School.
Mr Fruge has 14 years
classroom teaching experience
with nine years in Nederland. He
also taught in Huffman, Port
Neches, Copperas Cove, Port
Arthur, and Caddo Parish, La
Schools
He has a M.Ed. from Lamar
University in Beaumont, a B S Ed.
from Northwestern State
University of Louisiana He has
certification in Mid-Management
Administration, Professional Life
and Industrial Technology and
Speech, Provisional Life.
Mr and Mrs Fruge have a son
who will be a junior in Comanche
High School and a 20 year old
daughter
Mrs. Alana comes to Comanche
from Oak Woods Intermediate
School in the Granbury ISD where
she was a fourth grade teacher
In 1995-96 she enrolled in the
Beginning Superintendent’s
Certification Program at Tar let on
and she also has a Masters in
Educational Administration Mid-
Management Certification from
Tarleton
She has a BS ' Elementary
Education from . astern New
Mexico University and had 50
hours of General Studies at Texas
Tech
Mrs Alana has also taught in
the Farwell ISD and was a
teacher’s aide in Lubbock High
School
She is married to Donald Heston
Alana, a retired high school
teacher They are parents of Kelly
D Alana, a student at Parker
College of Chiropractic in Dallas,
and a son, John H Alana, a
student at Weatherford Junior
College and a partner in Diamond

DeLeon Man Dies Of
Multiple Gunshot Wounds
The DeLeon Police Department,
in cooperation with the Comanche
County ShenfTs Office and Texas
Rangers, responded to a fatal
shooting at approximately 5:00
a m on April 28, 1996
Pronounced dead at the scene of

Maidens Blast Aledo 18-4,
Advance to Regional Finals
The CHS Maidens softball team, behind an 17 bate hit attack,
pounded Aledo 18-4 in a regional semifinal contest in
Stephenville on Tuesday. Comanche trailed 3-4 after two innings
but scored 7 hi the third and 8 in the fourth to claim a five inning
ten run rule win.
Angela Smith gave ug> five hits in five innings. Teleisha Jackson
was 4 of 4 at the plate. Myra Rainey had two singles and a
double. Recording two base hits were Sheree Haevischer, Smith,
Heather Damron, and Katherine Martin. Also recording singles
were Brandy Hufstutler and Lisa Colckastire.
The Maidens will face Wylie in the regional finals next
Tuesday at 7:00 in Brown wood. The winnner will advance to
state.
