trict court was called this week. The
case of the State vs. Charles' Miller,
bprglary, two years on, a plea of
guilty . State vs. Areh Blakly, horse
theft, two years. State vs Juan Hor-,
nandez, murder, is now on trial. The
grand jury has turned in three indict-
ments for felonies.
Hon. 8. <Vebb of Albany a
native Texan will make the race
for representative of the 84th dis-
trict, composed of the counties of
Palo Pinto, Stephens and Shack-
leford. Having consulted with
prominent men in - this county,
and knowing what he can do in
Stephens and Shackelford coun-
ties, Mr. Webb says he ..intends
to be elected,” and as Palo Pinto
county holds the key to the situ-
ation, he proposes to unlock the
door to the legislative halls at
Austin. He says “I can only
promise that I will faithfully work
at all times for the people of this
section; that I will never be ruled
by any ring or corporation, fcjiat
my every thought and prayer will
be, to do something for the better-
ment of our people as a whole.
It has never been said of me that
I was not a worker, and with my
large acquaintance I firmly be-
lieve that I can accomplish a
dear for this seotioft.-

fast train from Galveston and San
Antonio to 8t. Louis, and to the first
person who sends in a name that shall
be selected for tbe train, we will give
a free round trip ticket from any point
in Texas to St. Louis,And xeturn any
time during the fair. But the follow-
ing conditions must be observed:
First, the name shall be so connected
as to identify the rbad oVer whioh
this fast train is operated. Second,
the name must be new arid original.
Third, the name shall be short and
