Bobby Jones is Ham Operator
Bobby Jones, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Jones of Houston, form-
erly of Mesquite, received his
amateur radio operator’s license
over a year ago. He operates sta-
tion W5TGA in Houston, and
plans to get his advanced class
license in January.
A Junior student in Lamar
High, Bobby plays in the R.O.T.C.
band. He is one of eight ham
operators in Lamar High, which
has an enrollment of over 2,000.
Bobby’s most interesting con-
tact over his station has been with
a man in Brazil, who has a son in
A&M College.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Robinson
and children spent Christmas holi-
days with his mother, Mrs. Annie
Robinson, in Wetumka, Okla-
homa.
Deleware was the first state to
join the Union. It ratified the
Constitution on December 7, 178 7.
