Almost immediately upon ar-

The objective of the camp was
to teach us to be leaders and to
meet our fellow members and to
conserve natural resources. All
the people there were very friend-

describing the first uction-filled
hours of the Red attack on South-
ern Korea. g
Mrs. Sisk, whose husband is
connected with the State De-
partment Foreign Service in
Korea, was visiting last week in
the J. W. Luker home here. She

-Mrs. Sisk’s parents are residing
In Wellington where she and her

plans are worked out for her hus-

Only a week before the attack
Mrs. Sisk had returned to SoeuI
from Pusan for the physical
check-up required of United
States civilians after they had
been in Korea a year. She had
ordered supplies for the commis-
sary at Pusan of which she was
supervisor. Her husband was
completing two years time in the
East.
Mrs. Sisk relates that they were
alerted at 9:30 a. m. on June 25.
Their wedding anniversary din-
ner was cut short by the flight
overhead of a Yak fighter, identi-
fied by Mr. Sisk.
Mrs. Sisk related that she made
a dash for the luggage room and
began “some fast and furious
packing.” Aiding Mrs. Sisk was
Maggie, a Korean girl who worked
for Mrs. Sisk during the time
she vtas in Korea.
“Maggie showered the children
and fixed the lunches,” she re
calls.
Since it was our tenth wedding
anniversary, she says, “I had
baked a cake before the news
came.”
Special steaks had been ordered
and that evening at 6 o’clock "we
went to eat.”
While we were finishing our
.small party, Mrs. Sisk says, thd
administrative officer came up
and reminded Mr. Sisk that there
was a security meeting at 7:30
that night.
Just as we were leaving the
dinner two Yak planes flew over
head. We heard them coming,
