Texas, Has a Student Welfare
Department and Has Made
Improvements for 1924
The Tyler Commercial College
is highly Complimented by the
Business Men and Parents for al-
ways looking after the welfare of
its students, both young men and
women, in the student’s boarding
homes. In addition to this, the
■ A-. - ~ i
school has employed Mrs. Me-!
Konna, a well-known and practi-
cal matron of high moral stand-
ing who fully understands the
moral and physical needs of the
students. One of her1 duties is to
see that the students are placed
in homes that are properly pre-
pared to take care of them, both
as to sanitation and to food.
Mrs.. McKenna’s experience and
training enables her to do this
work in#; most satisfactory man-
ner!. Sre is ideally fitted for this
wovfc and has demonstrated her
ability. }t is the policy of the
school to look out for the welfar®
of the studebts wthotit extra
cost to the student,' and this lias
much to do'with making it the
largest commercial 'school in the
country.
An audit dT the rates for room
and board has just been made,
which shows an average of $21.90
for young men and $22.90 for
young ladies.
The radio and civil service de-
partments. which have been re-
cently added to the courses
taught in T.yler Commercial Col-
lege, are growing rapidly. Stu-
dents are enrollng in these de-
partmnts every day. One cannot
conceive of the great demand at
this time for radio experts. Ra-
dio is the world’s newest indus-
try, and, in keeping of the high
standards of the school, a first
class' radio equipment has been
t installed. Both broadcasting and
receiving sets second to noirtjgn'*
