Friends are few. Those so-called fair-weather friends
who borrow your money are in the same class with, the
schemer who tries to get you to invest it in wild-cat en-
terprise. The temptation to spend your money while you
have it in your pocket is very great.
When it is in our bank it is safe. No one^wants

Ed Glober and family will leave

his entire interest in Runnels

Cauble, of Ozona, for a total con-
sideration of $61,500.
In the deal Mr. Cauble gets
Mr. Gloher'8 ranch in Concho
county, comprising 4700 a* res, at
a consideration of $47,000. lie also

NEW YORK, May 7.—Only
seven jurors have been elected to
sit at the trial of Charles Becker’
former police lieutenant in tliis
city, ho is being tried for the i
second time for the murder of j
Henry Rosenthal. There is hope*
of filling the jury today. Two
were selected before noon today,
the remaining five having been
chosen yesterday.
Talesman after talesman either
was excused for bias opinions or i
challenged. With Becker still
calm and apparently confident of j
an acquittal, and bis wife sitting
near, a new panel of one hundred
men has been ordered.

opening of the trial. He has

family as soon as he can wind up
his business and move.
Mr. Cauble is a stockman of
Crockett county, and will not
move to Ballinger at present, and
it is probable that he will dispose
of the market here. He recently
xisited Ballinger and was so well
pleased with our town tlu*t he
expressed a desire to arrange to
move here and educate his chil

county interest will not permit of
this.
Mr. Gloher is a Ballinger boy in
all that the term implies. He has
lived here the greater part of his
life. he has made good in business
and is held in high esteem by all
his acquaintances. We regret to
lose him and his good family

Hail Insurance Will Protect You
against such loss. There is just as much common sense in
protecting your grain crop with hail insurance as there is in
protecting your house with fire insurance. But it is ven
important that you get a policy that will stand the test.
Don’t be “duped” into buying a policy that is not backed
with the money to pay the ioss.. We write this business in
the Saint Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co., the pioneer
hail writers in Texas, with ten million dollars to back up its
policies. Call, phone or send for us and we will tell you
what it will cost.
