Our cook this week is Jamie
Chapman of Blossom. Jamie and
husband Les enjoy camping and
going to ballgames to watch their
daughter, Colby play as well as
going to soccer and t-ball games
to watch their granddaughter,
Trystan play. She enjoys cooking
both in and out of doors.
Jamie cooks all the lunches and
desserts at the Triple C Gas and
Grill in Blossom. She trys to keep
a variety of what everyone likes
on hand. They serve complete
lunches each day also also a vari-
ety of sandwiches, salads and
snacks.
She and Les have three children
and they are Skipper, who is mar-
ried to Amy and they have a
daughter, Trystan and one on the
way in August. Valarie is married
to Hunter Harp and they have a
daughter Grade. Colby is a sixth
grader on the Blossom campus
and keeps Jamie busy with lots of
school activities.
Thank you Jamie for providing
our recipes this week and we will
see everyone in the kitchen!

great recipe for sandwiches or

this copykat recipe is a favorite at
the Triple C with customers as
well as family members!

makes a big cobbler and is great

Jamie Chapman, Blossom

Chicken Salad
1 whole chicken
3 stalks celery
1 small sweet onion
1 cup sweet relish
1 cup chopped pecans-optional
2-1/2 cups Miracle Whip
3 tablespoons sugar
Boil chicken for 45 minutes and
de-bone and chop in food proces-
sor. Chop celery, onion and pecans
and combine with chicken. Add
sweet relish and Miracle Whip and
salt and pepper to taste. Serve with
crackers or on cresent rolls.
Neiman-Marcus Cake
1 yellow cake mix
4 eggs
2 sticks butter
8 ounce package cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix cake mix with 2 eggs and 1
stick melted butter. Batter will be
thick Pat batter into a 13x9 pan
sprayed with Pam.For top layer
cream together cream cheese, 2
eggs and powdered sugar and 1
stick of melted butter. Pour over
cake batter ad spread evenly. Bake
for 35 minutes and cool and slice
into bars.

water to moisten dough
Combine flour and water and
add enough water to moisten
dough. Work dough with hands
into a ball and place on floured
board to roll paper thin. Cut into
1-inch wide strips as long as your
deep dish baking pap.
Filling:
3 large cans freestone peaches in
juice
3 cups sugar
3 sticks butter
cinnamon to taste
vanilla to taste
Place a layer of crust in baking
dish and add a layer of peaches.
Top with cup of sugar and sprinkle
with cinnamon and 1 stick of sliced
butter, Add another layer of crust
and follow the same order. When
last layer of crust is added, pour
one cup water over the top of the
crust and sprinkle with cinnamon
and sugar and another stick of
sliced butter Bake at 350 degrees
until top crust is brown and crispy.
Chicken and Dumplings
2 whole chickens
salt and pepper to taste
3 can cream of chicken soup
1 stick butter
In large pot, cook and cool chick-
ens. De-bone and remove Skin.
Save broth and strain. Set aside un-
til dumplings are prepared.
Dumplings:
3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup Crisco
1- 1/2 cup milk
Combine flour, Crisco and milk
to form a ball. Roll ot on floured
board. Cut into 1-inch squares. Let
dumplings air dry about 30 minutes
on board. Heat broth until rolling
boil; turn to low temp and add 3 cans
cream of chicken soup to broth and
1 stick of butter stir while adding
dumplings into broth one at a time.
When all are in pot cover and cook
about 30 minutes stirring as needed.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Strawberry Pie
2 deep dish pie crust
1 small container of frozen strawber-
ries
2- 8 ounce packages Cool Whip
1 teaspoon almond flavoring

dered sugar and beat with a mixer
and pour into cfust. Place in refrig-
erator until firm.
Filling:
Combine strawberries and flavoring
with jello and pour onto of cooled
pies and chill until served.
Meat I-oaf
3 pounds ground chuck
1 small onion
1 small green pepper ►
1 can tomato paste
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup dry bread crumbs
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 package dry onion soup mix
salt and pepper to taste
Place into a large bowl, chuck,
onion and green pepper. Add eggs
and tomato paste; mix well. Add
bread crumbs, soup mix, salt and
pepper and milk. Mix well; add
cheese. Work mixture until all in-
gredients are well mixed. Place in
13x9 pan and cook at 350 degrees
for 1 hour. After meat loaf has
cooked for 30 minutes, drain off all
fat and combine I cup catsup and 1
tablespoon mustard and 1/4 cup
brown sugar. Place on top of meat
loaf for remaining cooking time Let
stand 10 minutes before slicing

John W. Phillips, age 86 of Ft.
Towson, OK died Thursday, May
16 in Choctaw Memorial Hospital
in Hugo, OK.
Services were held Saturday,
May 18 at 2:00 p.m. in Ft. Towson
Cemetery with the Rev. Mutt
Wallace officiating. Burial fol-
lowed under the direction of Mt.
Olive Funeral Home in Hugo.
Mr. Phillips was bom March
19, 1916 in Deport, the son of
John Aden Phillips and Vera
Nixon Phillips. He graduated from
Oklahoma A&M in 1948 and he
had lived in this area his entire
life, working as a farmer and
rancher. He served in the U.S.
Army during World War II.
He was preceded ind eath by his
parents and two brothers, Elbert
Phillips and V.G. Phillips.
Surviving is one brother, James
B. Phillips of LaPorte; several
other cousins and relatives.

The Crusaders a gospel music
quartet from Garland will sing at
6:00 p.m Sunday, May 26,2002 at
Providence Baptist Church in
Paris.
Mike Hatfiled, a member of the
group is the grandson of Bogata
resident, Zelma Mauldin. He has
sang in church since he was 4
years old and continues singing
today. Everyone is invited tocome
for a blessing through song. The
church is located 3 miles out on
195 east off of Loop 286 in Paris.
William H. Brown
dies May 16
William H. (Happy) Brown, age
74 of Bogata died at his residence
Thursday, May 16.
Funeral services were held at
2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 in the
Bogata Church of God with Sister
Ethel Elrod officiating. Burial
in Bogata Cemetery under the flP
rection of Wood Fuenral Home.
Mr. Brown was born April 4,
1928 in Franklin County, Texas,
the son of Harmon Hughes and
Josie Staten Kelley Brown. He
married the former Mildred Elrod
on December 25,1953 in Bogata.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean Conflict and was a retired
logger.
He is survived by his wife; two
sons, Jeffery Brown and William
H. Brown, Jr. of Bogata; two
adopted grandchildren, Rhonda
Brown and Jeffery Dwayne
Brown, both of Bogata; on^
brother, M.L. Brown; two siste^ft
Marie Crafts and Pearline
Buchanan, all of Bogata; one
grandchild and two great-grand-
children. He was preceded in death
by a son, Harmon Dwayne Brown
on May 11, 1974.
