leading to the strengthening
of every body cell.
Rebounding, Carter says,
also stimulates the circulatory

digestive system and

the entire system of toxins

better delivery of nutrients to
the cells.

Advocates and devotees of
the newest exercise fed to hit
the market • rebounding - say
thousands of persons across
the nation are experiencing
renewed energy and weight
loss and have fewer aches and
pains thanks to their mini •
trampolines.
For the uninitiated,
rebounding involves up and
down motion on a pliant
surface, usually a rebounder
or mini * trampoline, which
brings forces of gravity,
acceleration and deceleration
into play to strengthen
muscles, organs and body
cells.
While rebounding has been
around since “the first kid
started swinging from a tree
limb,” rebounding on the
mini trampolines has
become popular only in the
last eight or nine years,
according to /
distributor, Mike Sticht.
The first wave
excitement over
rebounders occurred on
West Coast, he says, with the
“ripple effect” spreading
eastward, where it is just now
reaching the boom stage on
the East Coast.
Rebounders have been sold
in Texas for several yean, but
have generally been a well -
kept secret, coming into the
public eye usually through
individual distributors who
used word
advertising
demonstration meetings to
sell their products.
While claims made about
the beneficial effects of the
rebounder seem extravagant,
research into rebounding as a
form of exercise teems to
back up most of those
claims.
'Among

other winners who had

Sticht says, “There was a
real difference in
coordination” among the
trampoiinen as opposed to
the non - trampoiinen.
Strength gains of 10 to 15 .
percent have also been
recorded among World Class
athletes who have used
rebounding, Sticht says,
adding rebounding is used in
most athletic training
programs and by almost all
professional teams today.
And, he says, his 12 - year •
old daughter surpassed the
highest marks on physical
education fitness tests in
every category, including
push - ups, pull • ups and sit -
ups.
People who are skeptical
that bouncing exercises all
parts of the body can easily
feel muscle* in the shoulder
or abdomen contracting as
they go through the force
field, he says, adding that the
rebounder provides
“complete cellular exercise.”
While rebounding for
athletic stamina and
coordination is a fairly recent
discovery, visual therapists
have used rebounding in
visual perception therapy for
more than 30 years, where
results have been well
documented.
And rebounding is also
