MARY COMES IN MAY
Each year when May comes
around, it seems as though the
door of heaven opens and the
beautiful Lady steps out. She
is going on another visit. Once
more the earth welcomes her.

To The People of District 47,
Lavaca & Gonzales Counties:
This week the House of Rep-
resentatives will consider for
final passage House Bill 133,
the General Appropriations
Bill. As you know, the Confer-
ence Committee has worked
diligently in adjusting the dif-
ferences between the House
and Senate version and the bill
was laid out Friday for pos-
sible action the early part
this week. When this bill
passed the Legislature will
in a position to take action
several important bills which
were being held up due to the
General Appropriations Bill
and then we will be in a posi-
tion for final adjournment.

lars over a period of ten years
for the construction of perman-
ent improvements in the Expe-
riment Division, was passed by
the House of Representatives.
This is in compliance with the
newly voted constitutional
amendment allowing The Uni-
versity of Texas and Texas A.
& M. to conduct their own
building programs under the
available money for that pur-
pose. Included in this plan is
the Yoakum Plant Disease Lab-
oratory and the Gonzales Poul-
try Experiment Station. Each
will be able to construct and
secure much needed buildings
and equipment necessary to
carry on research important to
our area.
Many of you have expressed
your interest in a teachers pay
raise. Throughout the session I
have, discussed this with va-
rious people from my district
and I have been interested in
securing a raise so that those
of you in education may con-
tinue to do the good job you
have done in the past. It is my
sincere hope that a just increase
will be provided.
Sincerely yours,
STANLEY BOYSEN
