A CORRECTION. HOW SUBSCRIPTIONS COUNT.
Ballinger, Texas, June 7, 1910.
To the Citizens of Runnels
County.—
As certain parties are circu-
lating the reoprt broadcast over
the County that I have refused
to allow people the use of the
District Court room for the pur-
poses of public meetings and
have in instances charged them
for same, I deem it neccessary
to set myself aright before the
people by stating that such is a
mistake, and is the product of
some mind whose sole desire
is to injure me as an officer. The
entire official family Jiere, and
other citizens of Ballanger that
are infinite with my official acts
will freely bear me out in this
statement, and will say that I
have never refused to allow any
person, the use of the court
house for any religious, or po-
litical meeting, or other public
gathering free of cost, and have
always given the janitor instruc-
tions to have the court room
properly in order for each oc-
casion when so requested. I be-
lieve that while the county prop-
erty is directly under my control,
it is my duty to allow the people
to use it at any and all times,
and as above stated, I have pur-
sued this course on each and
every occasion when requests for
use of same have been made.
Very respectfully, ,
J. P. FLYNT, Sheriff.
