Texas will hold its 1991 summer
meeting on Saturday, June 8, at
S.P.J.S.T. Lodge Hall in Rowena,
Texas.
The lodge hall will open at 10:00
a.m. for registration and fellowship.
Everyone who is interested in
Czech history, culture, tradition or
genealogy is cordially invited.
Members and visitors are encourag-
ed to bring their family histories or
other Czech memorabilia for display
during this hour.
A family history workshop will be
held at 11:00 a.m. The workshop will
feature the various sources of
information available to the new
family history researcher.
Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon,
at a nominal cost.
The business portion of the
meeting will start promptly at 1:00
p.m. Following the business meeting
and starting at approximately 2:00
p.m., a program entitled “The Czech
Settlement of Texas - Who, What,
When, Where, How and Why.” will
be presented.
A $3.00 donation will be requested
at the door at the time of
registration. Proceeds from the
donations will go to the Albert J.
Blaha Memorial Research Fund.

for their regular meeting on May 21
in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic
Dining Hall with II ladies present.
The meeting was opened with a
prayer led by Msgr. Bockholt. The
meeting was called to order by
President Rosie Wilde and the
Secretary read the minutes
the previous meeting which
approved a read.
Several business issues
discussed. There being no further
business the meeting was closed
with a prayer. The door prize was
won by Cecilia Schramm.

Chairman Pam Jones presided.

the minutes which were approved.
Treasurer Peachie Davis gave her
report.
Mrs. Joyce Haugen reported a
successful bake sale at Sealy
Wal-Mart and Bellville Brookshire
Brothers May 11. This was possible
largely through the help of the
Bellville Pilot Club.
Staff member Mary latimer gave
the statistical and financial report.
She reported that there are now 12
children in Austin County under
Temporary Managing Conservator-
ship. She also said the there have
been five referrals of possible cases
of child abuse this month in Austin
County.

John M. Naumann, 61, of Rt. 1,
Fayetteville, passed away
Wednesday, May 22. 1991 at his
residence.
Funeral Services were held
Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's
Catholic Church in Fayetteville
with the Rev. Msgr. Ben
Mazurkiewicz officiating.
Burial was in the Fayetteville
Catholic Cemetery.
He was bom July 16, 1929 in
Columbus, the son of the late Morris
and Mary (Becicai Naumann. He
was united in marriage with the
former Loretta Orsak November 3,
1954 in Fayetteville. A member of
the American Legion Post 345 in
Austin, he had served with the Navy
in Korea and was a retired
computer programmer at Lamar
University.
Surviving are his wife, Ix>retta
Naumann of Fayetteville; two sons
and daughters- in- law, Ralph and
Kathy Naumann of Rockwall and
Wes and Ava Naumann of Houston;
one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce
and Otto Ixiessin of Columbus; one
granddaughter; one step-
granddaughter, two nephews, two
nieces, aunts and uncles.
Koenig- Peel Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.

at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16 from the
Knesek Bros./ Etlinger Funeral
Chapel in Bellville with Rev. Henry

Interment was in the
Cemetery in Nelsonville.
Mr. Walcik passed
Wednesday, May 15, i
residence in Decker
(Montgomery County).
Bom June 26, 1924 in Nelsonville,
he was the son of Ed and Emila
Zettel Walcik. He attended the
Santa Anna Public School and was a
veteran of World War II where he
served in the Battery B, 274th
Artillery Battalion in the U.S.
Army. He worked as a carpenter
and building contractor most of his
life and was a member of the
V.F.W.
Survivors include his two sons
and daughters- in- law, Pressley
and Annette Walcik of Decker
Prairie and Randy and Tina Walcik
of Fayetteville; sister, Mildred
McClemore of Texas City; and five
grandchildren, Khrtosy Kay,
Taylor, Lanie, Shaun and Dusty
Walcik.
Pallbearers were Jerry Redmon,
Bill Cooper, Ed Lindsey, Julian
Maskowicz, Wallis Mazyn and Carl
DeDear.
