The New Pontiac Big Six offers the perform-

quality is big car quality, yet its prices range
as low as $745. That’s why it is enabling
progressive Americans to step up in motor
car ownership without leaving the low
priced held.

Mayor George E. Ragl^pd takes
•us to task in regard to the caption
■of the editorial found in the last
issue of the News, “Vote, or Let
George Do It.” Mr. Ragland as-
sumes the position that we expect
him to do the voting for the cit-
izenship of Electra, or like Atlas,
bear the weight of political activ-
ities of the city on J his shoulder.
No, George, we didn’t mean
we meant the mythical fellow
comic
“goat” in all the episodes
regaled the “light-minded”
•of the dailies until his name be-
came a by-word, and the term
•‘‘Let George Do It” came to mean
the same thing as the
"‘passing the
shifting responsibility.
Far be *it from us,
speaking, to put any more respon-
sibility on the Mayor. Our mean-
ing, perhaps, was too subtle in the
article published, under “George Do
It” head, and we hasten to explain
right out in “meeting” that, we
meant, and still mean, to say that
any man or woman in Electra, hav-
ing a valid poll-tax receipt and
right of franchise, should vote on
-things which affect the welfare
and progress of the city, and failing
to vote through apathy or negli-
gence, they should forever hold
their peace. If you are not satis-
fied with the way the city govern-
ment is run and you honestly and
conscientiously believe a change of
officials would rectify ^patters, vote
your sentiment. If you fail to
vote, “let George, John or Bill do
it, or let them turn it over to
Reginald or Bengaline. Vote—put
nip or shut up.
The loudest calamity howlers are
often those whose taxes are not
paid, while they talk on the street
corners about officials wasting the
peoples’ money. The fellow who is
always harping about Electra going
io the devil and moving somewhere
to school his children, is generally
the one who contributes least to-
ward uplifting the moral tone or
building better schools. He “Lets
*George” have the responsibility
the blame.
Electra is a progressive city
•cause progressive people have
