vance of National Library Week
has duel themes “Widen Your
World......Read” and “Get A-
head.. Read.” It focuses atten-
tion on the year-round efforts
of libraries to provide infor-
mational, recreational, and ed-
ucational services to their pa-
trons.
Public, school, and college
and university libraries all par-
ticipate in the annual program.
Libraries are changing. Public
libraries are stressing new pro-
grams to provide adequate re-
ference services to all patrons
to serve economically disadvan-
taged persons, and to take the ii
services to the elderly and to
tlie home-bound. Audiovisual
materials have taken their pla-
ces alongside books in so many
school libraries that they are
often called media centers. At
the same time college and uni-
versity libraries liave expanded
to meet the needs of new cour-
ses and new ways of teaching
traditional academic courses.
National Library Week pro-
vides an opportunity for all

The Southside Church of
Christ held its second annual
Teacher Appreciation Dinner
last Tuesday night, March 27,
at the Westward Ho Restaurant.
The occasion is designed to
honor all the men and women
that teach Bible classes in tlie
church’s educational program.
Included teachers of infants
up through adults.
Guest speaker was Charles
Grisham, minister of the Lin-
coln Street Church of Christ
in Wichita Falls. His topic
was, “The Teacher’s Respon-
sibilities to the Student.’’
Southside minister David Rix
made the introductions with
J. K Whitefield, missionary
to Malyasia, giving the invoca-
tion.
Fifty-eight teachers
guests attended.

After alleging jurisdiction,

or about September 17, 1969
and continued to live together

flict of personalities, their
further living together as hus-
band and wife was rendered
insupportable, that there were
two children born of this marr-
iage. certain amount of
community property and other
property was accumulated.

Has 30 Years
With Gulf Oil
William H. Coats, lease op-
erator in the Odessa Area of
the Midland Exploration and
Production District, completed
30 years of service with Gulf
Oil Company--L’.S. on March
25.
He was awarded a service
award in recognition of his 30
years with the company by R. A
Coleman, area production man-
ager.
Coats was employed as a lea-
se operator in Electra, March
25, 1943. His entire tenure has
been spent in field operations
near Electra.
Mr. and Mrs. Coats reside
on Route 1, Electra.
