Tht week of March 17 to the
23 was a week of celebration
for the Camp Fire Girls. It
was the 58th anniversary of
rhe organization. Founded
March 17. 1910, by Dr. Luther
Gulick, the Camp Fire Girls
program emphasizes crafts,
nature study, homemaking,
citizenship, community ser-
vice, and sports. Both day and
residential camping are
stressed in the full year pro-
gram. A unique aspect of the
Camp Fire program is the
strong emphasis on Father-
Daughter relationships. Also,
participation of men in the
council administration is
strongly encouraged.
