moments. This is a time to look
forward to the special opportunities
the future holds for us.
As we look back, one can see that
we have had many wonderful,
glorious accomplishments on the
playing field, on the courts, and in
the classroom. We do not know what
the future has in store, but rest
assured that success atydP^PP""'ss
are waiting only for those who are
willing to strive, sacrifice, and work
technology and sophistication of our
military weapons would be so
advanced? Life expectancy among
our population has increased by 15
years due to the development of
miracle medicines and new surgical
procedures. It appears that man
can find a solution to about any
situation that presents itself. These
changes in technology are very
evident, and they will create many
opportunities for your generation.
Your success, however, is based on
some constant values that never
change. By no means will I attempt
to list all of these values, but I will
try to present four of these that I
think are very basic.
Responsibility to God and Country
Life often is complicated and each
of us is faced with a multitude of
decisions that have to be made on a
daily basis. Sometimes those
decisions cause us much heartache
and stress, and we become
frustrated to the degree that we do
not know where to turn to get relief.
The Bible teaches that real wisdom
is the gift of God. If we only ask the
Father, He will grant our request.
Infinite, unlimited power is
available to us through Jesus Christ.
I believe that it should be
acknowledged by all of us that our
greatest need is God.
Your country expects patriotism -
patriotism in word and thought and
deed. It expects you to so live that
America will be a better place
because you are a part of it. It
expects you to put in practice all that
you have learned in studying our
great nation. It expects you to give
in your every activity an unswerving
hard for it. As Shakespeare put it, devotion to America. Wasn’t it great
“We know what we are but we know the way the American people rallied
not what we may be.”
Graduation is a special time to
dream of everything we’ve yet to
experience, everything we’ve yet to
become. Dreams help us climb
mountains, cross oceans, and touch
stars. Without dreams, there would
be no vigor or energy, no spirit in
life. Our dreams are our goals, and
we have reached that one dream we
all long for-graduation. We must
now set our minds, hearts, and souls
on new things; dream and imagine
more than ever. We must believe in
what we dream, for there is nothing
one can’t do if only we believe it can
be done. We must follow our new
dreams, take one step at a time, and
never settle for less.
S This dream of graduation could
r never have been realized without the
caring, patient hands of our
teachers, coaches, friends, and
especially our parents. These
friends and loved ones have greatly
influenced our lives as has the
exceptional community we live in.
This community will always hold a
special place in our hearts.
I want to thank you all for giving
so much support for us the students,
the school, and for each other.
I want to give a special thank you
to my parents, sister, grandparents,
and my dear uncle. I love you.
I want to also say thank you to my
friends and classmates for all the
special moments we have shared. I
love you all.
In closing, I would like to read a
passage front the Bible, found in
Proverbs 3:54: “Trust in the Lord
with all your heart...Think of Him in
all your ways, and He will smooth
your path.” May God bless each
and every one of you.
