fa
ious spots of where the medians
were being proposed, it was still
early in the process. Plans are to
place the medians at different
intervals along the highway, in-
cluding busy portions along the
intersection of SH 6 and SH 35,
specifically the 1500 and 1600
blocks near First National Bank
of Alvin and National Tire &
Battery.
Perez didn’t provide specific
locations where the medians
would be placed only begin-
ning and ending points along the
highway.
The last time that median
work was done inside Alvin city
limits was in 2015. That work
was done along state of Texas
right-of-way at the comer of
FM 517 and the SH 35 Bypass.
domestic violence is held from
6:30-9 p.m., Thursdays at Al-
vin Family Community Center,
1031 W. Sealy. For more infor-
mation, call 832-521-8329.
Periodical for
Sun-Advertiser &
Alvin Sun is #16340.
Permit for Alvin
Advertiser is #54.
However, only one median was
placed in that project to separate
traffic flow for eastbound and
westbound traffic.
And like that TxDOT proj-
ect, the Alvin City Council was
informed about it during open
meetings. Regardless of how
Alvin councilman voted on the
project, TxDOT was going to
follow through with it. Some
questioned why the item was
even up for discussion during a
meeting.
Segovia said there are no plans
for another workshop or meeting
at this time.
She said city staff has re-
viewed the plans and made com-
ments on the city’s behalf that
are being addressed by TxDOT
but didn’t provide details.
The Alvin branch of the
American Association of Uni-
versity Women (AAUW) is
seeking new members. Mem-
bership is open to all graduates
who hold an associate or higher
degree (or equivalent) from an
accredited college or university.

Sometimes law enforcement
officers don’t know how long
graffiti has been displayed.
“It’s not certain how long the
graffiti was displayed before be-

said. “In one instance, graffiti
was limited to the inner walls
of one of the structures and not
visible unless you entered the
structure.”
