ADOPT RECORD BUDGET
—PLAN NEW BLDG.
The First Baptist Church
adopted their I960 budget
unanimously in the worship
service last Sunday morning.
George Roman*, chairman of
the budget and finance com-
mittee, presented the budget
and made special mention that
the new budget provided |600.
a monh for the construction
of a new two-story building
that would provide approxi-
mately 6,000 square feet of
additional floor space. The
building committee is working
on plans and will have them
ready for the church to ap-
prove in the near future
The new 1960 budget totaled
345,130.00 or >867.00 per
week. The church will observe
pledge day Sunday, November
22, when It la expected the
budget will be oversubscribed.

Appointment of Mr*. Vera
L. Mangum of Cleburne a* a
crew leader for the 1959 Cen-
sus of Agriculture was an-
nounced today by Field Direc-
tor James W. Stroud of the
Census Bureau’s regional of-
fice at Dallas.
Mrs. Mangum will direct a
force of census taker* who will
canvas* all farms in Johnson
and Somervell. Before assum-
ing her post, she will go to
Stephenville Counties where
she will receive five day* of
training by a member of the
Census Bureau’s staff. Topic*
to be covered include pro-
cedures for recruiting of cen-
sus taken, census taker train-
ing, canvassing methods, pre-
paration and submission of re-
ports, and the supervision of
census taker* to insure a com-
plete and accurate count.
The crew leader is one of the
key people in the field opera-
tions of the Census of Agricul-
ture. It is her responsibility to
recruit and train the census
akers and supervise their work;
plan and allocate work assign-
ments; review the work of the
