Conner Grantland started
on the mound for the Sandcrabs.
According to head coach Josh
Voss, Grantland did a very good
job, but Calhoun’s defense gave
up eight errors behind him.
The Sandcrabs were down
9-0 in the final inning of play.
Then the comeback started for
Calhoun.
Calhoun racked up nine
runs to tie the game 9-9.
Christian Ramirez stepped into
the batter’s box with the game
winning run on base.
Ramirez recorded a hit and
Dekyn Garcia came around
to score the winning run and
secure the Sandcrabs 10-9 walk
off win.
“It was a team comeback
and everybody on the roster
deserves credit for never giving
up and continuing to fight even
when they were down big. I am
very proud of the effort and
fight these young men showed,”
Voss said.
