to the student audience. Those previously nomi-
nated, but not selected, will continue to be consid-
ered along with additional nominations.
The 2018 Tulia ISD Hall of Fame will be induct-
ed May 7, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Tulia High School.
Deadline for nomination is March 2, 2018. For
more information contact Steve Post, Superinten-
dent, at 995-4591.
Requirements for a Nominee
•Nominee must be a graduate of Tulia Indepen-
dent School District and/or a former staff or facul-
ty member of Tulia Independent School District.
•Nominee who is a former student must be a
graduate of Tulia ISD and must have graduated at
least ten years prior to the nomination.
•Nominee who is a former staff or faculty mem-
ber must have served Tulia ISD as an employee
for at least ten years and must have been separated
from employment with Tulia ISD for at least five
years prior to the nomination.
•Nominee, if selected for the Hall of Fame, must
be present (or have a representative available, if
honoree is deceased) on the day of induction and

Tulia ISD Announces Acceptance of Nomination for Hall of Fame
Tulia ISD announces acceptance of nomination
for the Hall of Fame Class of 2018. The Hall of
Fame recognizes alumni, faculty, and staff who
have demonstrated notable accomplishments or
provided significant contributions to their school,
community, or society.
Each year a committee will select from those
nominated to be inducted into the Tulia ISD Hall
of F ame.
The inductees include: Class of 2012 - Mary
Lou Chapa, Mildred Hulsey, Marsha Sharp, W.V.
Swinbum, and Wes Stark; Class of 2013 - Elvin
Howell and Dennis Wilks; Class of 2014 - Doro-
thy Boyett and Van Latham; Class of 2015 - Don
Campbell, Gorden Gatewood, and Tori Irlbeck
Mamell; Class of 2016 - Dolores Carruth and
Bud Roberts; Class of 2017 - Bill Dawson and
Juanelva Rose. Anyone may nominate a person by
submitting a Hall of Fame nomination form which
can be picked up at the Tulia ISD administration
building, 702 NW 8th Street or printed from the
Tulia ISD web page www.tuliaisd.net.
In order to be considered a nominee must be
a graduate of Tulia ISD and/or a former staff or

former students must have graduated at least ten
years prior to nomination. Nominees who are for-
mer faculty or staff must have served Tulia ISD
as an employee for at least ten years and must

the superintendent’s office by early May for fram-
ing.
The 2018 Hall of F ame induction ceremony will
be held on May 7, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.
Please attach the following items to the nomi-
nation form:
•A list of significant accomplishments which
qualify this nominee for the Tulia ISD Hall of
Fame.
•A brief (three 8” x 11 ” pages or fewer) bi-
ographical sketch of the nominee including his
or her background, education, career accomplish-
ments, etc.
•Optional:
A: No more than three letters of support with
any number of supporting signatures, not to ex-
ceed one page of signatures (printed on one side
only) per letter.
B: A picture of the nominee
Completed nomination form and supporting
documents must be submitted no later than March
2, 2018.
