Have Courage Constantly
Courage is npt a property which
can be called out suddenly, at any
required moment, and then be al-
lowed to link back into quiescence,
there to remain until an emergency
requires it again. Decidedly on
the contrary, It is something that
must be constantly nurtured and
exercised If it may be expected to
possess “staying qualities.”—Psy-
chology Magazine.

Must Live After He’s Dead
Five pages of the manuscript of
Charles La mb’s “Dissertation on
Roast Pig” sold recently for |12,-
000. One can hardly believe the
rewards of literature are so enor-
mous. But the essayist has to be'
a canny business man, of course.
Not only must he write the essay,
but he must hang onto the manu-
script. and live until he has been
100 years dead.—Capper’s Weekly.

you ahead at the traffic light, to
over the steepest hills, or to s
along the highway?
And do you know that anyone who can
afford any car can own a Chevrolet Six?
• If you have never driven a six-cylinder car, it it im-
possible for you to form any idea of Chevrolet per-
formance from your imagination alone.
Smoothnesi! No rumble in the body—no tremble in the
steering wheel—no vibration to loosen windows and
doors!
Flexibility! Power that flows in a silken stream—and
never a trace of “lugging”!
Quiet! Hardly a whisper from the motor. You can
drive it for hours without the slightest noise fatigue!
But why try to tell you the story when only a ride can
give you the facts? Come in. There’s a car waiting
for you . . Now!

A plan for preserving the old

fire is under consideration ■’by ths
officials of the Texas ^Historical
Society, Judge Tom L. McCullough
well known Texae jurist and mem-
ber of te Board of .^hrec^ors of the
Historical Society, said here this
week. ‘ , /<’ ' ' . '
Houston’s^ home at Huntsville,
one of tife state5® most cherished
shrines/and model of Texas early
architecture, is now owned by the
stal^. To protect this structure,
Which has played such an Impor-
tant part in Texas History, it must
be guarded day and night, Judge
McCullough asdd. <
“And even then it is not safe”
he pointed out.' “A small spark,
fanned into a flame and one of
our most invaluable contacts with
the early life of the state would
go up in smoke.”
Judge McCuHough said that few,
if any of the old landmarks of
Texas are safe from fire. Most of
them are constructed of wood
which has dried out with years
of use. Fear has been expressed
by historians in various parts of
the state, over and over that these
shrines might be consumed by
fire because tpey are tinder dry. ■'
“It Is my opinion”. Judge McCul-
i eaid. “that steps be taken

homestead with an effective fire- ■
