With it you can water the flowers, wash the windows and the buggy.
Then you should have it for protection in case of fire in the home which
could be easily put out if you have a section of hose handy. It comes in
25 and 50 feet sections. A good quality for 10c per foot.

Features of the New Certificate Law.
In order that the teachers, .
> - ■
prospective applicants for certi-
j ficates and tire trustees of Grimes
county may understand and re-
ceive the benefit of certain points '
in question of the new certificate
law, I print the following com-
munication from State? Supt.
F. M. Brailey.
— W. S. Barl*on,
Cqunty Superintendent
Austin, June 3rd, 1911.
Supt. W. S. Barron.
Anderson. Texas.
Dear Sir:
In answer to your com-
munication of recent date, you
are advised that the new teach-
ers’ certificate law provides that
the holder of a State permanent
primary certificate or of a State
•or county second-grade certi-
ficate is eligible to contract to
teach only in the elementary
grades of the public schools; that
is, in the grades below the high
school. The holder of such cer-
tificate 1 does not have authority
to teach the subjects of algebra,
general history, geometry and
other subjects properly included
in a high school curriculum or
required by law for a State first-
grade er State permanent certi-
ficate.
The holder of a State second-
grade certificate isstied under
the old law may build to a State
first-grade certificate under the
new law by taking the prescrib-
ed examination in the following
six additional subjects: civil gov-
ernment, plane geometry, phy-
sical geography, English com-
position, algebra and general
history, and making the requir-
ed grade thereon. In building
from a State second grde certi-
ficate to a State first-grade cer-
tificate, the applicant is' not re-
quired to be examined in the
subject of agriculture.
Sincerely yours,
F. M. Brailey.
