schools which will impart the rural
point of view will be urged. It has
been claimed by educational lenders '
that the endency ot country schools
in recent years has been to serve
mainly as a "gang-way to city life."
To correct thia .towaward flow of
country boys and girts and to in-
culcate in them a genuine love for
the country and an appreciation of
the blessings ot rural life will be one
of the objects of tae conference during
the comng year.

good seed when as a matter of fact
everyone can by the expenditure of
a little time not only insure his own
supply of better seed but the best
seed that ean be used. Plants are ex-
tremely sensitive to a change in soil
and climatic conditions and because
a man made a good yield of cotton or
corn twenty miles sway, or. for that
matter, oh a neighboring term is no
sign the seed from that yield when
planted under other conditions is
going to make the beet yield. The
only way a farmer may be sure of
having the beet seed Is to breed and
eefoet the Med from bis own fields
and the time to go about this selec-
tion is right now while the plants
are to be the parents of the seed are
time spent in selecting seed for next
years crops. A single selection of

lowing amendment to the Constitu-
tion ot the State of Texas, as provid-
ed for in Section 1, Article 17. of said

pay of members of the Legislature,
and extension of term of regular ses

Legislature shall each receive from

which each regular session of the
Legislature is held, payable in equal
