The Harper High School Science Club has had a
powerful start this year. With
over 60 members, the group has
almost doubled in size under the
leadership of science teachers
Ken Davis and Kay McCrary.
The first presentation for the
science club was held November
4 at the high school. Guest
speakers Mr. and Mrs. Maglothin
of Precision BioLabs in Kerrville
provided a presentation of their
work in blood-borne pathogens.
About two-thirds of the science
club members were in atten-
dance.
The Science Club is open to
any high school student interest-
ed in learning more about sci-
ence. Shown by the membership
numbers this year, Harper stu-
dents have quite a yearning to
learn more about “good science.”
Meetings are usually once a
month on Monday evenings and

Jacoby, SPCA Manager said.
The Hill Country SPCA has
only one goal—to give a pet a ' BWIO

to be loved like those pictured.
It only costs $39.00 to adopt a
kitten or cat, and that includes
spaying/neutering, vaccination,
and health testing. Adopting a
dog includes all of the above
services and costs $59.00.
