The Children’s Sunday School Department will sponsor a Sunday School Teacher
Roundup today for those interested in becoming a Sunday School Teacher. If you would like
to learn more about becoming a Sunday School Teacher, please join us for a brief fellowship
in Fellowship Hall at 11:00 a.m., immediately following Sunday School. Please join us.
Congratulations to William-Paul Thomas II who qualified for the Mirabeau B. Lamar
Senior High School Freshman Golf Team. He was selected to fill one of the 6 available
positions for incoming freshman. He is 14 years old and will be starting his freshman year at
Mirabeau B. Lamar Senior High School on Monday, August 18th. William-Paul and Chanthini
Thomas are the proud parents of William-Paul II.
Join the Witnessing Team today at 3:00 p.m. as the go out into the community to witness
for Jesus Christ.
The Boys’ Rites of Passage Program will begin a new class at the end of August. They are
accepting applications for boys ages 11-16 and for adult males to serve as mentors. Please
fill out an Involvement Card and place it in the offering tray, or sign up in the Activity Center
after each service.

hospital. Though my condition and recovery are ongoing, the support of your outreach
ministry gave me encouragement and was a reminder to me that the Lord’s eye is on the
sparrow so I know He watches over me. I pray that you will continue to be a blessing to
others with your hospital ministry that it may encourage and spiritually lift others as it did me.

Announcements - Sunday, August 17,2003^^
The Jail & Prison Ministry will host its Third Annual Incarceration Awareness Day on
August 31st, Mission Sunday. The program will feature the Interchange Prison Choir at the
7:30 and 11:00am worship services. The event will kick off with a Parking Lot Crusade on
Saturday, August 30th from 10:00am to 3:00pm on WABC's parking lot with plans to impact
over 600 families of the incarcerated. You are cordially invited to attend and to volunteer to
help at the Parking Lot Crusade. Please stop by the Jail & Prison Ministry table in the Activity
Center. For more information, please contact Rev. Jimmie Brown at 713-436-2669.
