A bounty of fresh fruits, which is usual-
ly given to our Religious School Children
this past Saturday, was sent by them to
needy children who have never enjoyed
fresh fruit.
Our Charity fair the past two weeks
was given to Carla victims and to the
Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. The
canned goods bought by the children
for Succoth was distributed to needy
families and to the Colored Home for
the Aged.
The Sunday Student Council will meet
on October 8 with Mrs. Arnold F. Hend-
ler serving as Sisterhood Sponsor.
All interested Post Confirmands are
urged to audition for the Senior Religious
School Choir meeting with Mrs. Jay
Cohen on Saturday, October 7, or Sun-
day, October 8, from 10 to 11 A. M. in
the Upper Levy Hall.

PRESIDENT OF SISTERHOOD
Mrs. Arsht graduated from Rice zma
stitue Phi Beta Kappa. She received c“
gress from the Sorbonne University and
Institut de Phonetique, and a Master in
Arts, Columbia University. She has three
children, Mrs. Donald Lane, lives in Cal-
ifornia; Alan, who attends Rice Univer-
sity; and Leslye, a junior at Lamar High
School. She is a Member of the Execu-
tive Board, Rice University Alumni Asso-
ciation, Regional Vice-President of the
American Council for Judaism, Member
League of Women Voters. Her interests
are mainly her family and good govern-
ment. Her husband is Raymond I. Arsht,
President of Starr Oil and Gas Co.

OPENING MEETING
Thirty-five new members were wel-
comed at the first regular meeting. Mrs.
Harry Bassist and Mrs. M. A. Frimel and
their group of chefs, Mrs. Hans Katz,
Mrs. Maurice Hirsch and Mrs. Walter
Pye, prepared a delicious luncheon. The
musical program was arranged by Mrs.
Edwin Rottersmann, and Mrs. Sidney
Wright added her personal touch to the
table decorations. Thanks to everyone.
