Fund. It is purely a local option
measure, the citizens of each
county will decide for themselves
at a county election as to whether
or not the fund shall be estab
lished in that county.
(2) Deserving students who
need financial assistance to ac-
quire an education krill borrow
and repay the funds; thus using

(3) Thousands of young peo-
pie now without means to be-
come educated men and women

Mineola, N. Y., July 8.—Frank
Holt, the Cornell University Pro
lessor who shot J. P. Morgan in
his home at Glencove July 8,
committed suicide by jumping
headfirst from the top of his cell
to the floor, fracturing his skull
last night.
The noise of Holt’s body strik-
ing the door was heard by keep- .
er O’Ryan, wao was about fifteen
feet away. He saw holt lying on
the floor ina pool of blood and #
the warden and physicians were
immediately summoned. But ’

thing with which Holt could have
committed suicide. The rumor
that he had crawled through a

A letter was fund which had
evidently been written with the
pencil which he afterwards used
in an attempt to end his life by
cutting-the a-tere in his wrist.
The' letter was addressed “To
my dears,” and follows:
“I must write once more. The
more I think about it the more I
see the uselessness of my living
under circumstances such as
these. Bring up the babies in
the love of God and man. God-
bless you, my sweet — Affection -
ately, Frank.” “All please par-
.don me for all the heartaches I
have brought you. Pray with
me that the elaughier will stop. • -
My heart breaks. Good bye.”
Before killing himself Holt ad-
mitted that he had not told- -the
truth when he said that he had
made the bomb exploded in the
Capitol at Washington from sul-
phuric acid and match heads
and said also that he had not
told the truth regarding his
movements in Washington and
New York. ,
