hot ash avalanches

ash cloud billowed 2,000
meters (6,560 feet) high.
The 2,460-meter (8,070-

hot lava almost daily since
its alert status was raised
early this month to the

10,300 villagers whose

since then to safer areas.
JAKARTA, Indonesia
(AP) — Volcanic ash from
Indonesia’s smoldering
Mount Sinabung has
blanketed parts of Medan,
the provincial capital of
North Sumatra, forcing
residents to wear masks.
The head of the local
disaster mitigation
agency, Subur Tambun,
said Wednesday that
smoke spewing from
the mountain was being
carried by winds toward
Medan. So far, the ash fall
child Paul was born. She
was mostly a “stay-at-home
mom,” except when she was
needed as a bookkeeper,
waitress, or an assistant to
Albert in the family business.
Wanda was very involved
in the Winfield PTA for years.
She was instrumental in the
Halloween carnival, which
was a major source of revenue
for the school. She was very
creative. Her haunted houses
were legendary and are still
remembered 40 years later by
the kids who passed through
them.
Wanda dedicated her life
to the care and well-being of
her family. Her Christmas
dinners were epic and the
annual Easter meal and hunt
were highly anticipated by
grandchildren. She spent
hours looking for the perfect
book and gift for each and
every child. Now her great-
grandchildren have a library
of beautiful books handed
down to them. Her reading
these lovely and often funny
books created beautiful
memories for both her and
the children.
In her forties, Wanda
and Albert started sailing.
She always loved the ocean.
Their trips to the Caribbean
provided many hours of
entertainment in recounting
those adventures.
Wanda was a mother
to four, a granny to 14, a
great-granny to 13, and a
great-great-granny to one.
All adored her. She was the
granny who played in the
pool, rode the roller coasters,
floated the rivers, slid down
icy driveways on cookie
sheets, had treasure hunts and
dressed up for Halloween.

3. A/C Tune Up: It's not too late to
get your air conditioner tuned up. Utility
research shows that annual tune-ups pay
for themselves in just a couple of summer
months through utility savings. Plus, a tune-up
can restore lost system capacity (i.e., better
cooling).
