munity Service Award plaque to
Allred and stated:
“This award for meritorious
community service is made to
distributors of Phillips products
for unusual community services
that bring credit to the indivi-

SEEKS RECOGNITION
BULAWAYO, Rhodesia (AP)
— The Anglican Dean of Bula-
wayo, the Very Rev. C. Allan
Shaw, plans to ask the Arch-
bishop of Canterbury to support
recognition by Britain of mar-
riages in Rhodesia since this
country declared itself indepen-
dent in 1965. Britain refuses to
recognize the validity of any-
thing in Rhodesia since inde-
pendence.

The school administrators are
looking into a program that pos-
sibly could help the system out
by providing money to do reno-
vation work at both Shirley and
Central Elementary Schools.
Assistant superintendent Bob
Holman now is working on a
proposed program to present to
the board that would help in the
renovation projects He will be
asking the state for some
$300,000 for the two schools.
“I am not getting my hopes
up this time until we find out
something definite,” Hartman
said.
The school system earlier this
year had made plans to reno-
vate Central elementary school
into a partial non-graded sys-
tem, but funds were not availa-
ble.
