THERE’S BEEN frequent
mention lately of the coming
holiday season . . . now it’s not
just “coming," ... its here for
sure ... and a merry Thanks-
giving to you all.
In practically no time at all
it will be Christmas, and the
year gone and we'll be having
the usual first-of-the-year strug-
gle to write 1972 in our dates in-
stead of 1171.
Before rushing the year to an
end, however, there’s plenty to
enjoy during the holidays; in
cording to President John B.
Bunker of Holly Sugar Corpora-
tion.
Bunker said that EPA Ad-
ministrator William D. Ruckel-
shaus called the voluntary
cleanup agreement “the first of
its kind and I hope that it will
set a precedent."
According to Bunker, proces-
sors would control organic
wastes from their plants by re-
cycling flume water rather than
discharging it into nearby wa-
terways.
The flume water, which trans-
ports and washes sugarbeets, is
recirculated through settling

Mrs. D. W Allman.
Pictures, pilows and such i-
tems as aprons and potholders
ornamented with cameo paint-
ing were shown by Irene Coker
as she showed how the paint
was applied. Also on program
was a talk by Argen Draper,
county home demonstration a-
gent, on fabrics.
The covered dish lunch was
served to two guests, Mrs.
Cheddix of Amarilo and Mrs.
A. G. Bell, in addition to the
speakers.
Members present were Mmes.

ley, W. A. Waters, Robert Boyd,
