In this respect the C. D. Sham-
burger Lumber Co., at Muenster, is
one of Cooke county's leading lum
ber companies. Originally estab-
lished there in 1927, this firm car-
ries a large and diversified stock of
building materials, many of which
are hardly known to the average
person, but which can be used in
making your home or building
modern without adding materially
to its original cost. These mate-
rials are bought in carload lots in
many cases and savings effected
through such large scale buying is
passed on te patrons in the form
of lower prices.
The C. D. Shamburger Lumber
Company’s business policy is one
of courtesy and convenience to its
patrons and if you are planning on
building or doing alteration work
of any kind you will find them well
equipped to assist you in anything
pertaining to plans, estimates and

While building materials have
advanced some in price in the last

depression with the consequence
that property owners will find this
an advantageous time to build or

for such work been so evident, due

F THIS YEAR’S TEAM
ph record was produced on
‘we a day milking, according to
3/( Gibson, dairy specialist of
' the exas A&M College Extension
ser ce, who supervises the test-
ing work in the state. The high
o in the herd produced 718.1
pe nds of butterfat, 8 cows pro-
dvred over 500 pounds of butter-
fat, and 13 cows averaged more
than 10,000 pounds of milk.
The herd averaged 298 pounds
of butterfat when the testing pro-
gram was started. A system of
culling low producers, the use of
good purebred bulls, and improve-
ments in feeding methods brought
about the improvement in produc-
tion. High cows are fed three
a day and during bad weather
most of the herd receives feed
three times daily, Gibson said.
The feeding and care of the
herd is in charge of A. Z. Bush-
nell, herdsman. The Livelys give
considerable credit for their high
production to A. B. Jolley, coun-
