Roads Being Put

Local Unemployed
A total of 335 men are now
at work, on the payroll of the
local committee for unemploy-
ed, making the largest number
since relief work was first start
ed here several weeks ago.
Most of these men are work-
ing now.on bettering the coun-
ty roads, and with a total of
14 crews on the job, road im-
provement is being done on the
Big Sandy road, Glenwood
road, Coffeeville and Ore City
road, Lafayette road, as well as
roads around Union Ridge,

Mrs. N. P. Rutledge died
Thursday morning. She was 93
years of age and had devoted
67 years of her life to Christ-
ain duties. Her remains were
put to rest Friday at the Oak
Hill cemetery. She is survived
by Mrs. J. M. Day, of Simp-
sonville, Mr. A. Rutledge, of
Gilmer. Mrs. A. B. Rutledge,
of Bettie, Mr. Charlie Rutledge
of Seymore, Mrs. Irene Davis
of Wichita Falls, and Mr. J.
A. Rutledge of Bettie.
