stances had picked Rosenberg by
two or three touchdowns, but the
Navasota Rattlers, showing a
hafb driving backfield and
charging line, turned the- tide
and held the Mustangs to two
touchdowns and picked up one
for their own books.
The over all picture looked
good. There are yet a few kinks
to be worked out before district
play opens, but with the team
showing the hustle and spirit
they showed Friday night, these
kinks can quickly be erased by
the fine coaching staff the Rat-
tlers have. The coaches are
Wannie Miller, head coach;
Raymand Birchfield, line coach;
Dudley scored once on a 24
yard scamper and once on a 35-
yard run. He added one extra
point. Carl Carter scored from
six yards out on an off tackle
play, and Cliff scored from two
yards out.
Jerry Worsham looked good on ]

showed up good. The Bulldeg»
made 12 first downs and out-
gained the Bisons 244 yards to

An underdog Rattler eleven
held the Lamar Mustangs of Ro-
senberg-Richmond to two touch-
downs and picked up .one for
themselves before bowing to the
host eleven 14-6 Friday night.
Fred Lohmeyer, speedy half-
back, paced the Rattlers in their
attack picking up 88 yards in 14
carries. Lohmeyer scored the
lone Rattler tally on a 31-yard
gallop around the Lamar right
side.
Early in the first quarter the
Rattlers staved off a Mustang
scoring threat after the Lamar
eleven had marched from their
own 36-yard line to the Rattler
15. Here the Rattier forward
wall dug in and the Mustangs
were forced to turn the bell over
to the visiting team on downs.
The Rattlers took over and
picked up two first downs in
five plays but lost the ball on
a fumble on their own 47 yard
line. The Mustang secondary
.failed to come through and
turned the ball over to the Rat-
tlers seven plays later.
In the second quarter the
Mustangs capitalized on a Rat-
