Berlin, Nov. 27.—Three hundred
Americans celebrated 'Thanksgiving
day by dining tonight at the Kalsorhof.
Retiring Ambassador White, who pre-
sided, proposed the healths of the
German emperor and President Roose-

ican citizens, with a sprinkling of dis

participated in the annual Thanksgiv-
ing dinner held at the Cecil hotel to-
night under the auspices of the Amer-
ican society in London. The company
included Ambassador and Mrs. Choate,
all the members of the embassy staff

General Evans, the RL Hon. H. H.
Asquith, Lord Reay. Lord Fairtax
Held Marshel Lord Roberts and Sir
Henry Normhn. The speeches were
numerous and abounded in good feel-
ing and reciprocal compliments.
Toasts in honor of King Edward and
of President Roosevelt were drunk
with equal enthusiasm.

Hale and Mrs. Hale gave a Thanksgiv.

THANKSGIVING DAY OBSERVED.
Laredo, Tex., Nov. 27.—Thanksgiving
day was generally observed here today
and high military mass was celebrated
in St. Peter's cathedral. Mr. E. R.
Chase, offielating, assisted by three of
the clergy and a detachment or soldiers
from Fort McIntosh, under command
of Major J. C. Tillson. The crack Ninth
cavalry band of Monterey, Mexico, was
present by special permission of Mex-
ico’s secretary of war. and discoursed
exquisite music throughout the impos-
ing ceremony.

Rome, Nov. 27.—Hundreds of stars
and stripes hanging from the houses
of Americans announced Thanksgiving
day to the people here. A special ser-
vice was hold in the American church,
Rev. Dr. McCracken of New York ofll-
dating. Mr. Francis MacNutt, a papal
cavalier of the cape and sword and the
highest American layman at the Vati-
can, gave a magnicent dinner in
honor of the day. The guests includ-
ed Archbishop Chapelle of New Or-
leans. Professor Norton, the director
of the American School of Classical
Studies, gave an entertainment to his
students.
The Thanksgiving reception at the
United States embassy today was a
brilliant function. Five hundred
guests attended, Including the whole
diplomatic corps, the court officials,
several members of the government
and Dean West of Princeton Univer-
sity, the chairman of the American
school here.
