the Houston hospital, Dr. Paul

She laughingly says “if any-

Superstitious?
Superstitious? We Ameri-
cans should not be superstit-
ious about the number 13. In
the Great Seal of the United
States there are 13 stars, 13
stripes; 13 arrows in the eagle
talons; 13 letters in the motto,
13 laurel-leaves; 13 feathers in
each of the eagle’s wings; on
the reverse side of the seal
the 13 courses of Masonry are
represented in the pyramid, and
there are 13 roses in the Glory
around the All-seeing Eye.

Connie Dennis, Levelland,
president of WRA, presided at
the regular scheduled meeting
Oct. 20, in the gymnasium.
Mrs. Lucke, Dean of Women

ties of the officers.
After the regular scheduled
meeting the executives held a
meeting at which they planned
this year’s schedule.
The schedule is as follows:
IT IS SOMETIMES SAFER IN
YOUR BED
by Jim Reeves
Peace and quiet is suddenly
shattered by the tumultous tur-
moil created by a broken Coke
bottle. Doors open, people yell,
and the appearance of the old
fashioned broom sends every-
one back into their rooms.
Peace again settles over the bui-
ldings, bringing with it an aca-
demic air but somewhere in the
dark confines of someone’s
room, a plot is being hatched by
mischievious minds. Glasses
and pails are filled with water,
enemies are picked and the fight
is on! Tempers rise slightly,
laughter rings out, and the water
flies. Suddenly the hall door
bangs open, and everyone scur-
ries into the rooms like so many
quiet mice. Slowly the dorm
matron treads the hallway with
a loud splash, splash. Doors
open, heads peep out, and the
clean-up crew descends upon
the catastrophe like a quiet
