will be at Summerfield Cemetery

Brothers Mortuary.
Mr. Hegler died Thursday,
Jan. 9, at Good Shepherd Hospi-
tal.
He was born Jan. 1, 1917 in
Gilmer and was a lifetime resi-
dent of Upshur County. He was
a laborer. He was a member of

Funeral services for George
Marvin Ford, 50, of Big Sandy
were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
Jan. 14, at Croley Chapel with
the Revs. Joel Gibbons and Rex
Nolan officiating. Burial was at
Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Ford died Saturday, Jan.
11, in a Tyler hospital.
Bom July 10,1946 in Alpine,
he had lived in Upshur County
the past 14 years. He was a
welder and rancher, and was a
member of Bethel Temple Bap-
Force from 1943 to 1946, attain-
ing the rank of Master Sergeant.
He owned real estate and in-
surance agencies, and was an
active community leader. He was
a member of First Baptist
Church where he served on the
Board of Trustees. He served as
president of the Marble Falls
Chamber of Commerce in 1966-
67, and received the Outstand-
ing Citizen award in 1968.
Mr. Dockery was awarded a
Paul Harris Fellow by the Ro-
tary Club in 1970, and remained
active in the club until his death.
He was a member of several civic
and business organizations.

Mr. Owen died Sunday, Jan.
12, in Gilmer.
A native and lifetime resi-
dent of Upshur County, he was

morial Park under the direc-
tion of Croley Funeral Home.
Mr. Bates died Sunday,
Jan. 12, at a Longview hospi-
tal.
A native of Upshur County,
he was born March 24,1924.
He owned and operated West-
ern Auto in Gilmer.
He was an active member
of First United Methodist
Church where he served in
many capacities. He was a
member of the F & F Sunday
School Class of which he has
served as class president, and
was active in the Methodist
Men’s organization.
He was also actively in-
volved with the Pleasant
Grove Cemetery Association,
president of Elwood Club
Lake, and a memaber of
Bethesda Lodge No. 142 and
the Lions Club.
He married the former Iota
“Pete” Davis on Nov. 9, 1947
