Global Shield 81 is designed to
test the command’s capability tot
carry out emergency war orders tot
support U S policy if deterrence fails.
This exercise has been constructed to
measure SAC’s response to a set of
preplanned events leading up to a
simulated attack on the United States,
- the spokesman explained.
As part of Global Shield, some
SAC aircraft deploy to civilian and
military airfields selected specifical-
ly for the exercise Additionally, B-52s
and FB-Ills fly low level training
routes approved by the Federal Avia-
tion Administration. The routes were
preselected to help measure the sim-
ulated bombing, navigation and elec-
tronic counter measure skills of SACl

you. Not for servicemen. You won’t have costly

that are effective on even the hottest days. Call
