A TELEVISION HOUSE is one of the newest developments in
architecture. This plan 2659 by Herman York architect, 199-33 Keno
Ave., Hollis 7, N. Y., is designed with a shaded alcove in the living
room to accommodate television set, radio, record player and home
movie screen. The house covers an area of 1,285 square feet. The
architect says he is convinced from experience that television be-
comes a new center in a home, sunersedinp the tireplace we believe*
that new homes should be planned for television even in areas not
yet covered by video.

Here’s the brightest idea ever! Give sparkling, streamlined, practical
electrical gifts this Christmas. First on your list should be the automatic
electric roaster ... to cook a complete meal at one time and give you con-
venient, table-side serving. The automatic electric blanket or comforter
• . . for sound sleeping comfort on the coldest winter nights ... is a favor-
ite with homemakers the nation over. These, and a host of other electrical
time- and labor-saving servants will add to your family’s comfort and
well-being throughout the year. They make the most welcomed gifts under
any tree. They’re easy on your Christmas budget . . . and they are gifts
that keep on giving convenience and comfort for many years.

Postmaster Cecil H. Tinsley’s
warning yesterday that all pack-
ages and all Christmas cards for
out-of-state delivery should be in
the mail by Friday, December 10.
"If they are mailed later, some
may not be delivered until after
Christmas,” he warned.
Post office cancellations nor-
mally average 7,500 pieces of mail
per day, the postmaster reported.
Cancellations are now running
about 7,220 per day, and at the
peak of the Christmas season they
will reach 30,000 per day.
