Plant #4 exterior today isn't much
improved over the dingy red, rather
dilapidated appearing structure it was
last March when Bill Plunkett and
Red Boardman moved over from plant
#1 to lay out a Tiltdozer production
line while the building still was largely
occupied by operations of its former
owner and by storage.
But inside all is changed. The
gloomy cavern that could hold attrac-
tion for none but spiders and termites
has become LeTourneau's most mod-
ern Peoria factory. White paint, good
housekeeping, jib cranes and some
other modern facilities, including an
overhead monorail system, have
wrought the transformation. Right
now Bill and Red talk most about the
monorail. They themselves were talk-
ed into it by Maurice Foote, supt. ofroad and carriers are carted back from
other terminal to be pushed up this
incline for another trip. Jack Brand
