The reunion date was changed to accommodate those coming from great distances. The only
other help that is needed to wrap up the reunion is YOU. Attendance at the Annual Reunion
is an important gauge of whether or not you want to participate in the alumni functions. Great
strides have been made this year, but only with the fine participation of the alumni office, Jim
Dailey, the regional directors and the individual members who have donated their time and efforts
to the St. Ed’s Alumni Association.

I have enjoyed being your president this year and am honored that I was privileged to serve
in this capacity. I do hope that all of you will exercise your right to vote by ballot for those select-
ed by your nominating committee for the offices of president and vice president. I feel that this sys-
tem is much more democratic and gives each one of you an opportunity to vote. I am expecting
that more than 1,000 votes will be cast this year. Will yours be one of them?
The St. Edward’s and Maryhill Alumni By-laws have been approved by the board of trustees.
We now have a set of by-laws which are printed in their entirety in this issue. Please read them
and bring with you to the reunion business meeting any ideas for revision, change or addi-
tions. Or send me your ideas in the mail and I will mention them. All of this work will be for noth-
ing if every one of you doesn’t contribute something to the Alumni Association. I am not speaking of
money, but of your time, ideas and promotion through participation. The drafting and passage of
the by-laws was done entirely by the Alumni Association. They may not be the best by-laws pos-
sible but if you disagree with some of the provisions let your voice be heard. Those who sit idly
by and criticize without sounding their objections will never help further the Alumni Association.
