BROTHER RAYMOND HONORED
Brother Raymond Fleck, CSC, was recipient on May 26 of an honorary doctor of
humanities degree from Mt. Angel College in Oregon where he and Brother LaSalle
Woelfel, CSC, were invited last summer to analyze the college’s educational and
financial programs. Brother LaSalle has since been appointed president of Mt. Angel.
COLOMBIAN ADMINISTRATOR AT ST. ED’S
Dr. Carlos Jose Cuervo, rector (president) of Universidad del Tolima in Colombia,
began a nine-month stay at St. Edward’s in May as an administrative associate to
Brother Joseph Cain, CSC, academic deam. Purpose of his assignment is to expand his
knowledge and perspective of education through involvement with an American
university.
MEXICO PROJECT UNDERWAY
Nine SEU/Maryhill students left Austin May 31 for Llano Verde in the state of
Puebla, Mexico, to spend part of their summer vacation working among the poor and
helping them to help themselves. A report on their activities will be included in the
next issue of the Newsletter.
