Escaped an Operation
There is nothing in the werld a woman so much fears as a surgical
operation. Often they are necessary, but often not; and many nave
been avoided by the timely use of that good old-fashioned root and
herb remedy Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Compound. If you are
suffering from some dread ailment peculiar to your sex, why not
profit by the experience of these two women whose letters follow?

The Salvation Army campaign, which
begins in Texas Monday' morning, is
being launched in San Antonio for $60,-

i are pledged to canvass for the drive.
An outstanding feature of the San An-

amount asked of that city is smaller
than Houston, Fort Worth, or Dallas,
San Antonio is to receive the new Sal-

will coat $175,000. The new institution ।

A list of school lands heretofore sold
but now subject to be forfeited for
non-payment of interest due up to No-
vember 1, 1918, has been delivered to
the State printer by J. T. Robison,
Commissioner of the General Iand
Office. There are about 2.000.000 acres
and the commissioner’s minimum ap-
praised selling price will amount to
about >15,000,000. If the interest should
not be paid, the sales will be forfeited
in time to bring the land on the market
for sale January 2 at 10 o’clock a. m.
These are some of the sales on which
the Legislature authorized the post-
ponement of forfeiture on account of
the drouth two years ago.
Mr. Robison says he has sent a list
of the land in each county to the
county clerk of the county in which
the land is located and that all inter-
i csted persons can see the lands affect-
ed by either Whiling on the county clerk
where the land is situated or owners
can learn from the land office if any
particular section is in the list by
making inquiry of that office and give
a correct description of the land by
ection, block, grantee and county. The
commissioner says this is a matter of
much importance to many land owners
and they should lose no time in finding
out if their land is in this list, because
the volume of work in the office is so
great that the usual personal notice
can not be given.
