ing the highest mortali-
ty in livestock are John-
son and Sudan grasses

Sarah Williams, a 6ft. 3 inch 1974 graduate of
Grandview High School, has been notified by the
. Women’s Basketball League that die has been
chosen as the first round draft choice of the Mil-
waukee Doe to play women’s professional basket-
ball. This is the first year of the WBL, and she was
contacted by the Doe General Manager, Gene
Delisele and asked to report to camp within the
next three weeks.
Sarah, the daughter of Richard Williams of
Grandview, played high school ball for four years
for Grandview High School and was named All
State at Austin three times.
After high school, she entered Weatherford
Junior College and was named Junior College All
American in 1975-76. She was also selected to play
in the -Junior College Game in San Antonio that
year.
After completing Jr. College, toe attended
Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond,
La. In- 1977 Southeastern w o n the National
Championship in Los Angeles competing against
teams from Dayton, Ohio, High Point, N.C., Berry
College in Georgia and Phillips University in Okla-
homa. In 1977 Sarah was also named All American
and played in the All American Game in Washing-
ton D.C.
- This year the state of Louisiana picked aft All
Star Team, and toe was chosen to play on the first
team, and selected as Most Valuable Player in
the Louisiana State Tournament for 1978.
) Sarah reported that other teams in the WBL
are from Houston, Chicago, Minnesota, New Jersey,
Nyw York, Washington and Iowa.
