the regular dinner and business

fessional Women, Tuesday night
at the Liberty hotel, has been can-
celled.
Three freight trains were derailed
in the snow covered Panhandle-
Plains. Rain-slick and ice-covered
highways were factors in several
highway deaths.
The tornado hit the Flour Bluff
area near the coast Sunday morn-
ing but damage was light.
Winds clocked at 82 miles per

Department reported ice, snow
and slush today over wide areas
of Texas. Driving was hazardous
in many sections.
Ice1 and snow hit the Panhandle
and West Texas and drifted down
near Austin in the Hill Country.
Other sections reported roads
closed by high water from heavy
rain sunday.
Road conditions by district:
Austin— 1% inches now in Gil-
lespie, Llano, Mason and Burnet
counties with some slush ice on
roads. Bridge's sanded. Farm 1320
closed by high water in Blanco
County.
Wichita Falls — One to two
inches of snow. All roads open
but driving hazardous.
Waco—Snow and sleet in north
part of district with ice on some
bridges. Icy spots sanded and
traffic moving normally. These
roads closed by high water: Farm
1829 at Leon River in Coryell
County; Farm 457 at Elm Creek
in Bell County.
Odessa—Snow and sleet. All
