Rogers, the visiting center, was a
thorn in the Coyotes side from
start to finish. The lanky center
shot goals from all angles and posi-
tions to score 20 points.
The Coyotes held an imposing
lead until the last quarter when the
Christians began to sink baskets
with a monotonous regularity until
they gained a six point lead. The
Coyotes rallied to threaten this lead
in the last few minutes but couldn’t
quite overcome it.
The game was a thriller from the
spectators point of view but was
featured by rough tactics from
both teams. With the exception of
some bad passing by the whole team
and a little clown work by Isabel in
the early stages of the game, the
Coyote attack worked smoothly, al-
though it was handicapped by the
absence of Phillips, a starting for-
ward.

The Weatherford College Coyotes
defeated the Arlington Heights
Christians here December 20, by a
score of 53 to 22.
The outcome was never in doubt,
as the Coyotes jumped into an early
lead nad increased it all the way.
The score at the half was Weather-
ford 23, Arlington 8.
This was the first game of the
year for the Coyotes and they
strutted their stuff in a fashion
beautjful to see. Every icombina-
tion that Coach Rhome tossed into
the game clicked perfectly. If the
team continues to improve as much
as it has heretofore, Weatherford
College is destined to have a team
very much in the running for the
conference championship.

Rules are funny things. Offi-
cials are always; making new
ones, but you never hear of any
" being repealed. Now comes the
one that football players must
pass their three courses before
they can receive their letters.
The rule hasn’t met the least
bit of approval here or else-
where. If a man plays football
all season, and is eligible for all
games he is deserving of a let-
ter. For some reason nothing
was mentioned about such a
rule until after the season was
over.

Phillips, first string forward and
brilliant floor man, was missing
from the line up Friday night. This
hreal in the regular combination
didn’t help the Coyotes any; how-

shoes. House made his initial ap-
